Hooded Cowl

This hooded cowl is great for cooler weather! It’s incredibly soft and cozy. This pattern is a fairly quick and simple knitting project, perfect for a chilly weekend!

What You’ll Need:

Size 10.5US (6.5mm) Circular Needle
Stitch Markers
1 skein Caron One Pound or other Aran weight yarn

Legend:

K – knit
P – purl
k2tog – knit 2 stitches together as one
PM – Place stitch marker

Cowl:

CO 120
Row 1: Working in rounds, knit around
Row 2: Purl
Rows 3 – 6: Knit
Row 7: K29, PM, k2tog, K58, k2tog, PM, k29
Row 8: Knit
Rows 9 – 64: Rep Rows 7 & 8, decreasing after the first marker and before the second.

Hood:

Row 65: knit across. Turn work.

Row 66 (No longer working in rounds): Purl
Row 67: Knit
Rows 68 – 125: Rep. Rows 66 & 67
Bind off.

Fold top seam in half. Sew together.
(Can also use Kitchener stitch or 3-Needle BO)

Optional Edging:

Attach yarn at split at bottom of hood. With RS
facing you, pull up 64st around the front
opening of the hood. Turn.
Knit to end. Turn.
Knit to end.
Bind off.
